A local real estate development company is seeking permission to build six residential homes off Route 70.
Arya Properties, based in Island Heights, has filed an application with Brick Township’s Board of Adjustment, seeking a use variance required to build residential homes in a business zone.
The lot on which the homes are proposed is off the northeast corner of intersection of Route 70 and Van Zile Road, adjacent to the Kentwood Village apartment complex, according to the township’s tax map.
The lot is located in the B-3 zone, while the six homes would be built on lots about 7,500 square feet each, conforming to the township’s R-7.5 zone. The application seeks the use variance as well as major subdivision approval, so the property can be divided on the tax map.
The developer is scheduled to appear before the Board of Adjustment at its Sept. 21 meeting, which takes place at 7 p.m. in the municipal complex.
