Brick police said Friday they had tracked down a threatening message written on the wall of a bathroom at Veterans Memorial Middle School to a student at the school.

The message was reported to police Thursday morning, and resulted in children having their backpacks and bags checked before being able to enter the school for the day, parents told Shorebeat.

“School officials in conjunction with the Brick Township Police Department will be handling the disciplinary process” for the student who wrote the message, the details of which have not been publicly divulged, said Sgt. Neal Pedersen.
