The holiday season is a time for cheer and celebration, but if a loved one is battling addiction, or had their life claimed by it, the Christmas season can be a tough time of year.

Project Heuristic, a local group that offers support against substance abuse, is planning a Holiday Season Support and Hope event next Tuesday, Dec. 20, with the aim of “offering you support and hope this holiday season.” The free event is geared toward parents and other families and friends who have lost loved ones to addiction, whose loved ones are in treatment, or whose loved ones are in need of help to get into treatment.

The event is being co-organized by the Discovery Institute for Addictive Disorders.
