Brick’s public works crews will begin the township’s annual fall collection effort next week – and as usual, officials are reminding residents not to blow leaves into the street, as Brick does not own vacuum trucks.

Brick will begin collecting bagged leaves Oct. 23. The entire schedule is as follows:

  • If your recycling day is FRIDAY, your collection weeks begin OCTOBER 23 and NOVEMBER 27
  • If your recycling day is MONDAY, your collection weeks begin OCTOBER 30 and DECEMBER 4
  • If your recycling day is TUESDAY, your collection weeks begin NOVEMBER 6 and DECEMBER 11
  • If your recycling day is WEDNESDAY, your collection weeks begin NOVEMBER 13 and DECEMBER 18
  • If your recycling day is THURSDAY, your collection weeks begin NOVEMBER 20 and DECEMBER 26.

Brick does not utilize vacuum trucks to collect leaves, meaning leaves blown into the street will not be collected. They have also been known to cause sewers to clog, officials have said. It is against township ordinance to blow leaves into the street and those who do may be subject to a fine.
