The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Ocean County – as well as the remainder of South Jersey – with a storm forecast to drop 4-6 inches of snow on Saturday.
The snow will begin in the overnight hours and last through the day Saturday. Overnight, about one inch of snow will fall, according to forecasters, followed by another 2-3 inches on Saturday during the day, and potentially one more Saturday night.
The reason for the upgrade in the snow totals is the fact that the storm will move closer to the coast, according to forecasters.
