Major Roads in Brick Area to be Repaved in 2018

Ocean County this week will award its first 2018 paving contract to Earle Asphalt company, which will mill and pave several miles of roadways for $2,729,813.

According to County Egineer John Ernst, several roads in Brick and close neighboring areas will be included in the upcoming round of paving, which will be completed in the spring.



Beaverson Boulevard, between Shorrock Street and Brick Boulevard, will be paved, along with Burnt Tavern Road from Route 70 to Route 88 (also known as the Bridge Avenue extension). In Lakewood, Cedar Bridge Avenue and Airport Road, from the Brick border to New Hampshire Avenue, will be repaved.

The contract also includes the repaving of Bay Boulevard in Lavallette and Ortley Beach.

“Our engineer’s estimate was $2.8 million,” said Ernst. “This will be ready for construction in the spring, March or April timeframe.”

Bids ranged from the winning $2.7 million bid to a $3.8 million bid.
