The repaving of a bumpy portion of Mantoloking Road, a frequent request made by Brick residents, will get underway soon, county officials told Shorebeat.
Donna Flynn, the county spokeswoman, said the Ocean County Road Department is scheduled to resurface and pave Mantoloking Road from Adamston Road to Hooper Avenue starting in late spring or early summer. The work is expected to be completed prior to July 4 holiday.
The project was delayed, Flynn said, because New Jersey Natural Gas planned on installing new mains along the road, forcing the county to hold off on the paving project.
“However, NJNG has postponed that work for about three years providing the county with the opportunity to improve the road surface,” said Flynn.
The county completed the resurfacing and paving of Mantoloking Road from the Mantoloking Bridge to Adamston Road in 2016.
