Brick officials have proposed new parking regulations for the playground parking area at Traders Cove Marina, and are considering enacting the same regulations at some other parks.

The township council introduced an ordinance last week that sets a two hour time limit for cars parked at the northernmost lot at the site. The ordinance will be up for a second vote at the June 12 council meeting, where it is expected to be finalized, but for now the regulations will be temporary.

“It will be up until September 15, and then maybe we’ll look at it at some other parks,” said Mayor John Ducey.

The time limit is specifically being considered for Bayview Park off Route 35, but will not be imposed this season since the park has yet to be rebuilt.
