Brick Beach I has officially closed as crews from Weeks Marine complete a beach replenishment project that has already widened the beachfront in most of the town.
Brick Beach III is open, however, as is Brick’s portion of Normandy Beach, just to the south. Both of those sections of town now have fully widened beaches, though some blocks of Normandy Beach are still using the pre-replenishment style beach entrances.
Construction crews close 1,000 feet of beach at a time and complete between 300 and 400 feet of beachfront every day. When the work is done in one area, crews open it back up to the public immediately and move on. In Brick’s case, the work is progressing south-to-north. Brick, as a whole, is projected to last through late August.
