Brick residents will have two chances to “go green” this weekend.
There will be a plastic bag exchange at the weekly Farmers Market this Saturday, Aug. 11, at Windward Beach Park. Visitors are encouraged to bring their single stream plastic bags and exchange them for a reusable shopping bag. Anyone who turns in a plastic bag will also be automatically entered into a raffle to win a Hot Frog Composter. (You do not need to be present during the drawing to win.) More on the Farmers Market can be found here.
Across town, there is an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste products. Ocean County is hosting the hazardous waste collection at the Public Works yard and recycling center, located at 836 Ridge Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-registration is required. A full flyer with information on the collection can be found here.
