Brick police will step up patrols to protect trick-or-treaters this Halloween and, in an announcement issued Tuesday, reminded residents that a curfew is imposed for minors on “mischief night” and Halloween each year.

Ordinance 150-2 of the township code prohibits a juvenile from being on any public street or in any public place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. The ordinance is a permanent portion of the township code – it is not passed each year as it used to be.

“During this curfew period the Brick Township Police Department will have extra Officers assigned to patrol the township,” the department said in the announcement.
