Brick police are investigating an early-morning robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in the township.

According to Sgt. Jim Kelly, a man walked in to the 7-Eleven store on Burnt Tavern Road, just off Garden State Parkway interchange 91, at 4:33 a.m. Saturday, went to the cooler and took a Snapple drink, then approached the counter. Keeping his right arm concealed in his jacket, he told the clerk he had a gun, Kelly said.

The suspect demanded money and grabbed some from the clerk as the register was open, then left with an undisclosed amount of proceeds, Kelly said. The suspect is believed to have left the area on foot, possibly to an awaiting vehicle. The clerk was uninjured.
