Police in the Florida Keys have charged a Brick man who they say choked his own 9-year-old daughter in the parking lot of a bar.

Scott Willand Alino, 47, was charged with child neglect, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. According to the office’s website, Alino was lodged in a jail in Key West but was released on bond Wednesday.

The incident, which occurred Tuesday at the Hogfish Bar & Grill, Stock Island, Fla., was witnessed by a restaurant employee who called police. A report from CBS Miami said the employee was worried the child was being choked so hard that she might lose consciousness. Eventually, the girl was able to break free and run back into the restaurant, the report said.
