The owner of several local car dealerships is looking to build a car wash and vehicle preparation facility on a portion of a 5.42-acre property on Burnt Tavern Road.
Selman-Savino Properties, LLC, a holding company that – according to public records – is run by members of the Selman and Savino families, who own the All-American chain of car dealerships, is proposing to utilize a portion of the property they own at 949 Burnt Tavern Road for the project. According to planning documents, the site will be used as an “auto washing and preparation facility for wholesaling and distribution of new vehicles.”
All-American purchased Weisleder Ford and Weisleder Mazda several years ago and, in 2016, proposed building a new dealership on Burnt Tavern Road. Construction, however, never began and project appears to have been abandoned. The same group purchased the former Circle Dodge property last year to operate as a Motor Trend-branded used car dealership.

The project requires a variance since it will only utilize 1,056 square feet of space where 5,000 square feet is required. The lot, situated just east of the Buy Rite liquor store, CVS pharmacy and Anchor Concrete facility is currently vacant.
The planning board will hear the case at its June 12 meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the township municipal complex.
