A 15-year-old boy who was pulled from the bottom of a Brick Township lagoon over the weekend has died, police said Sunday night.

The boy, whose name has not been divulged publicly, was swimming with friends in the lagoon behind 58 Toronto Drive at about 6 p.m. Saturday night when he went underwater and did not resurface. Those with him began searching within five minutes – as soon as they noticed he was no longer with them. The owner of the home dove several times and eventually brought the boy to an awaiting boat that carried him to shore. He was then taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
