The Brick Township Board of Education is expected to vote on a measure to appoint the district’s human resources director to acting superintendent.
The change would take place Aug. 1, the same day Superintendent Gerard Dalton will leave the district. Dalton decided to abdicate his post as schools chief last month after one year.
Sean Cranston, who served as a math teacher and math supervisor before landing the job as H.R. director in Brick, has been tapped to lead the district as officials search for a permanent replacement for Dalton. Cranston, according to an agenda for a special meeting scheduled for Tuesday night, will earn an additional $184.23 per day beyond his $123,936 salary.
Board President Stephanie Wohlrab did not respond to a request for comment sent on Friday after the meeting agenda was posted online.
Tuesday’s meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Professional Development Center at the Veterans Complex on Hendrickson Avenue.
