Authorities are investigating a second homicide in as many months in Brick Township, this time the result of a stabbing.
The Ocean County Prosecutors Office confirmed to Shorebeat that a homicide occurred early Sunday afternoon after a man was dropped off at Ocean Medical Center with a stab wound. He would later succumb to that wound. The incident occurred at the Brick Gardens apartment complex, located off Hooper Avenue, according to a person familiar with the case who asked not to be identified by name. Police were reportedly searching that area for evidence.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and Brick police are currently investigating several leads and attempting to interview family members and witnesses, said OCPO spokesman Bryan Huntenberg. The name of the deceased man has not yet been released publicly.
