Brick Police Make 5 Arrests, Impound Vehicles in Two Troubled Condo Complexes

Brick police, fresh off an enforcement sweep that rounded up 19 criminal suspects following a pair of shootings, made several additional arrests and impounded vehicles in two condominium complexes known for criminal activity.

The arrests occurred Wednesday in the Maple Leak Park and Brick Gardens complexes, Sgt. Jim Kelly said.

In Maple Leaf Park: Kenneth Furman, 25, of Brick was arrested and charged with obstruction of the administration of law. Raymere Myers, 24, of Manchester was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Both men also had outstanding warrants for their arrest. Several vehicles in the complex were also impounded for various violations.

At the Brick Gardens Complex: William DeLao, 18, of Brick was arrested for distribution and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Angel DeLaCruz, 19, also of Brick, and Giovanni Hernandez, 19, of Lakewood were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

“Chief Riccio and the officers of the Brick Township Police Department are committed to the safety and well-being of our community,” Kelly said. “We will continue maintaining an aggressive approach to suppress any and all criminal activity.”

Furman was lodged in the Ocean County Jail and was the only suspect whose photo was available.
