Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Brick Township.
According to a statement, Brick police officers as well as investigators from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office were called to the home at 28 Creek Road at about 12 noon Sunday. Upon arrival, Brick officers discovered a deceased female. The death was described as “suspicious” in the statement.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” the statement said, but “there is no immediate danger to the public at this time.”

According to tax records, the property where the death occurred is owned by a Lakewood couple. Authorities promised more information would be released at a later time. The deceased woman’s name was not divulged.
