Brick school officials announced Tuesday that its planned meeting of the Board of Education this Thursday would be canceled. Minutes later, a separate notice was published announcing a special meeting Aug. 20.
The meeting is likely to carry great importance, as it will be the final such gathering of school officials before the start of the 2020-21 school year, which will undoubtedly be affected by the coronavirus pandemic. As it currently stands, the school district is planning an “A-B” schedule, wherein students will attend classes in-person twice a week and learn virtually three days per week.
