Brick Township police on Tuesday announced that two people have been charged in connection with gunshots being fired Monday near the Maple Leaf Park condominium complex.
Nasir Williams, 18, was charged with obstruction and lodged in the Ocean County Jail. Another individual, the juvenile, was charged with obstruction, possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and hindering apprehension. The juvenile was turned over to the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.

The incident occurred Monday at about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Creek Road and Sawmill Road, police said. A caller reported hearing “several shots fired in the area.”
The juvenile’s name was not released; no photo of Williams was available from the county jail. Williams had been previous charged in May with drug distribution and weapons possession in a separate incident, which also included a 17-year-old juvenile.
The investigation is ongoing, Sgt. Jim Kelly said. Anyone with any information about the incident is being asked to contact Detective Benardino Alvarado at 732-262-4612.
