New Jersey state lottery officials confirmed Friday afternoon that the jackpot for the multi-state Mega Millions game has reached $1 billion, giving residents just a few hours to get in on their chance to become a billionaire.
The jackpot represents the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot in history, and the third-largest jackpot for all North American lottery games. The estimated cash value is $739.6 million.
Friday’s $1 billion Mega Millions drawing will be held at 11 p.m. All New Jersey Lottery Mega Millions tickets must be purchased before 10:45 p.m. to participate in the drawing.
