Brick police arrested two local residents on charges related to their alleged possession of heroin and crack cocaine, the department said in a statement Monday.
The arrest took place Thursday, Feb. 4, when detectives from the department’s Street Crimes Unit were investigating a suspicious vehicle with two occupants in the area of the Brick Motor Inn on Route 70, said Sgt. Jim Kelly.
That traffic stop led to the seizure of 350 wax folds of heroin, paraphernalia, and approximately four grams of crack cocaine. Police arrested George Murray Sr., 53, of Brick, and Christoph J. Polperio, 41, of Toms River.
Murray was charged with possession of heroin and crack, possession of heroin and crack with the intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia, failure to turn a controlled dangerous substance over to police, and obstruction of justice. Murray was lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
Polperio was charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia, as well as traffic summonses. Polperio was released on a summons pending a future court date.
Polperio’s photo was not available.
