Motorists who drive on the western portion of Herbertsville Road that extends into Monmouth County will have to contend with approximately eight months of detours ahead, police in Wall Township said Tuesday.
Wall Police Capt. Greg Carpino said the Monmouth County Highway Department and Green Construction will begin roadway improvement construction on Herbertsville Road this Thursday, Feb. 18, 2020, which is expected to last until October 2021.
“The posted speed limit has been lowered to 35 miles per hour while construction is ongoing to ensure the safety of the workers,” Carpino said. “Please follow all posted detours and directions of traffic control personnel.”

Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists are asked to allow extra time for travel while the project is being completed. The road construction will be completed in stages, meaning detours and the positioning of equipment will change over the course of the project. Carpino said his department’s Facebook and Instagram pages would be updated with exact locations as the work goes on.
