Brick Township officials have awarded contracts that will provide for the repaving of one township neighborhood as well as the parking lot at a popular park complex.

The township council approved a $243,888 contract with S&G Paving Construction, of Jamesburg, Middlesex County, to repave the Pinewood Park parking lot.

“The project generally consists of the mill and overlay of the Pinewood parking lot,” said Council President Lisa Crate.

Pinewood Park, located off Route 88, is primarily used as a soccer field complex.

A separate contract was awarded to Meco Inc. for two phases of paving in the Laurelhurst neighborhood, located between Princeton Avenue and Midstreams Road.

The $802,008 contract will provide for new pavement, sidewalks, plus drainage improvements and curb ramp upgrades for Glenmere Drive, Sunnycrest Drive, Salem Road, Laurelwood Road and Forest Road in phase one.

In the second phase, also covered under the contract, the same project will be undertaken on Laurelhurst Drive, Robbins Street, Robbins Court, Diane Drive and Edgewood Drive. The township also exercised an option to pave West Drive and East Drive.
