The Brick Township Planning Board will consider an application that requests approval to operate a farm market on Mantoloking Road.
According to planning board filings, the board will hear the proposal from Farm Pointe New Jersey, LLC, which owns a similar property on Route 9 in Beachwood. The Brick location is being proposed for 738 Mantoloking Road, which is located across the street from Visitation Roman Catholic Church. The property is currently undeveloped.
Farm Pointe will be seeking a variance to deviate from the township’s normal requirement of 2,000 square feet for a building footprint; 675 square feet is proposed. There is also a variance being requested seeking relief from the township’s requirement that the business be situated at least 25-feet from a residential zone. The plot of land in question backs up to residential homes, and an 11-foot buffer is being proposed. A third variance seeks relief from the township’s prohibition of commercial driveways being located less than 100 feet from an intersection.
The filing notice before the planning board did not specify what type of products the store is seeking to sell, though this is customarily disclosed during the hearing. The Beachwood location operates as a food market-style store.
The hearing will be held April 14 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Information on public access will be posted on the Planning Board page on the township’s website.
