Detectives from the Brick Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit executed a traffic stop on a township man who they say was found to be in possession of drugs packed for resale as well as cash and paraphernalia.
The detectives conducted the motor vehicle stop in the area of Church Road and Mantoloking Road Wednesday at about 9:45 p.m. on a vehicle driven by Frank Russo Jr., 66, of Brick, according to Ptl. Victoria Finelli.
During the course of the motor vehicle stop, Finelli said, an investigation resulted in the seizure of seven Xanax pills, paraphernalia, 30 bags of heroin packaged for resale, three grams of crack cocaine, and cocaine packaged for resale. A butterfly style knife was also in Russo’s possession, and a sum of cash was seized pending forfeiture.

Russo was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of Xanax, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, paraphernalia, hindering apprehension and possession of a weapon. He was also issued traffic summonses for careless driving and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Russo was released on a summons pending a further court date.
