One of the vehicles left the area and detectives stopped it for traffic violations, while the other vehicle left the area and could not be located.

During the traffic stop, police say they discovered heroin, cocaine, used syringes, and various other forms of paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver, Scott Butler, 58, of Brick, was arrested for possession of cocaine drug paraphernalia and was issued traffic summonses. The passenger, Scott Butler Jr., 28, of Brick, was arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin, hypodermic syringes, and drug paraphernalia.
