Brick Township officials are putting capital improvement funds to use quickly in 2021, moving forward with a number of street repaving and improvement projects around town.

The governing body, at its meeting Tuesday night, voted to solicit bids for several projects and award a bid for another. The bid solicitations include:

  • Shore Acres: Vanard Drive, Mathis Drive, Waterway Court.
  • Baywood Phase II: Seville Drive, E. Granada Drive, Toledo Drive.
  • Jaywood Manor: Jaywood Manor Drive

The council also awarded a $526,660 contract to Meco Inc. to perform roadway and drainage improvements in the Bay Harbor neighborhood. Streets slated for improvement in that project include:

The projects will include milling, base repair, asphalt paving, handicap-accessible ramps, sidewalk repairs, inlet grates and curb pieces, new drainage pipe, new curbs in certain places and curb restoration in other locations.

The projects authorized for bid will be advertised publicly, and the council will select the lowest qualified bidder to complete the work after bids are returned. The Bay Habor project, for which a contract was awarded, will see work begin following a pre-construction meeting in the coming weeks when a start date is chosen.
