Brick officials this week awarded a contract to improve two township streets with a number of items, including fresh paving.
The township council on Tuesday awarded a $329,867 contract to Meco Inc., the low bidder, to improve Jaywood Manor Drive and Quail Run. Information was sent out to more than 70 prospective bidders who signed up for a list.
Mayor John Ducey said the project will include milling, base repair, asphalt paving, replacing steel grates, the reconstruction of drainage structures, the installation of drainage pipes, new curbs in selected locations and replacement of the existing concrete curb in others.
Residents will be notified by mail as to the work’s schedule. Before the work can commence, township officials must hold a pre-construction meeting with Meco representatives to determine a start date to stage equipment.
