The Brick Township council on Tuesday night voted unanimously to solicit bids that will cover the paving of two neighborhoods.

The first project is known as the “Woodland Valley” contract. It includes several streets off Thiele and Winding River roads in the Herbertsville section, including Turkey Point Road, Winding River Court and Winding River Lane.

The second project will cover several of the “presidential streets” between Route 70 and Route 88. This is known as the “Point Pleasant Manor” project, titled for the original name of the neighborhood. The project will include the repaving of Washington Drive, Adams Drive, Jefferson Drive, Taft Avenue and Taft Court. Truman Drive will receive drainage improvements.

The projects will likely be completed in the spring since asphalt plants in New Jersey generally close during the cold weather months. The township must review the bids it receives and award a contract to the lowest qualified bidder before beginning pre-construction meetings to determine the project schedule.
