The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the bulk of the state, including Ocean County, calling for 1-3 inches of snow to fall overnight into Sunday.
The advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Snow is expected with total accumulation between 1-3 inches, the advisory said.
“Expect slippery conditions on untreated roads and walkways,” the advisory said. “Slow down and use extra caution if driving.”

The NWS forecast for the local area calls for a slight chance of rain before 1 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., after which the precipitation will change to all snow. Less than an inch of snow is expected to fall overnight.
On Sunday, snow is likely before 1 p.m. It will otherwise be cloudy with a high of 35 degrees. Another inch or less of snow is expected during the morning and daytime hours. A slight chance of snow or light snow will remain before 7 p.m. Sunday at which point the system is expected to move out of the region.
Sun will return Monday, but with a high of just 29 degrees.
