We caught an amazing sunset Tuesday night on Barnegat Bay and the Metedeconk River, and we had to share it above! Hope everyone enjoys. The weather forecast, however, is somewhat mixed.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a beautiful week – but storms over the upcoming holiday weekend – ahead.
The NWS forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with increasing clarity all day Wednesday, and a high of 85 degrees. The weather will only improve for Thursday, with sunny skies and a high near 89. A southwest wind will move just 5 m.p.h. The good weather will continue Friday under sunny skies with a high near 91 degrees. South winds will range between 5-15 m.p.h.
A storm system is expected to move in Saturday, carrying with it the chance for heavy rain. Rain is likely, and possibly a thunderstorm, after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall, the NWS said. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 88 degrees.
Showers will continue, and possibly a thunderstorm, before 2 a.m. Sunday, followed by a chance of showers into the morning. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. The threat of showers will continue until about 2 p.m. Sunday, at which point it will become partly sunny with a high of 82 degrees.
Sun will return in earnest Monday, with a high of 85 degrees.
