The Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter, where many of the 180 dogs and cats that were rescued from a home in Brick Saturday were taken, is seeking coats and sweaters to keep them warm while temperatures are low.
The shelter said via social media that it has been overwhelmed by donations and support after news of the animal hoarding situation broke, but now only needs coats and sweaters.
“These pups are not used to going outside therefore these cold temps are little tougher for them,” the shelter said. “Any and all help is greatly, greatly appreciate it. We couldn’t do this without your support.”

Specifically, the shelter is in need of coats and sweaters that would fit medium-size dogs.
“Please at this time we only need coats and sweaters,” the shelter went on to announce. “The outpouring of support with other donations has been immense. It has been a blessing. But it is also been overwhelming for the Shelter staff. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring for these pups.”
The Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter is located at 360 Haywood Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Donations are being managed through the Friends of the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter organization.
