The “Power in the Pines” air show and open house at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will return this weekend with demonstrations from fighter pilots, Army airborne teams, attack helicopters and historic World War II aircraft.
The event will be held May 20 and May 21, 2023, at the base, beginning at 9 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. The gates which will be open are listed on the event’s website.
This year’s event will feature a spectacular array of combat aircraft, including U.S. Air Force F-16 Vipers and F-15 Eagles, plus Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets. The Marine Corps will bring their AH-1Z (“Viper Zulu”) attack helicopter – one of the most advanced in the world – plus the gigantic CH-53E Super Stallion, one of the world’s largest heavy lift helicopter systems. Army aviators will show off the famed UH-60M Black Hawk, the UH-72 Lakota utility helicopter, the C-12 Huron special mission plane, and the legendary AH-64 Apache attack helicopter.
