Brick Township council members, at their most recent two meetings, voted unanimously to seek bids for road repavings on several streets in town.

On Tuesday of this week, the council voted to put out to bid a project that would repave and improve drainage on Pinewood Drive, a side street off Route 88 near the park that carries the same name.

At the previous meeting, the council authorized bidding for the latest roadways in its “isolated streets” repaving program. This program groups together, in one contract, streets that are in need of repaving, but not as part of a larger neighborhood project. Normally, these streets would not see any work, but grouped together, the township is able to hire a single contractor to tackle them.

The streets included in this contract will be Morris Avenue and Meridian Drive. Morris Avenue is located in a neighborhood bordered by Route 70 and Burnt Tavern Road. Meridian Drive is located off Jordan Road in the Midstreams section of town.

A construction schedule will be set after bids are received and awarded, and pre-construction meetings are held. Residents will be notified if and when they need to move their vehicles off the street.
