Brick police say detectives from the department’s Street Crimes Unit concluded a lengthy investigation Thursday with the execution of three search warrants, yielding quantities of drugs and cash, culminating with the arrest of a township resident.
The warrants were executed at a residence on Coventry Court, Sgt. Jim Kelly said. The residential search yielded 250 wax folds of heroin and a “large amount” of crack cocaine that, when included with the amount of crack cocaine seized from the suspect’s vehicle equaled over 100 grams. In addition to the drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash in the tens of thousands of dollars was also seized, along with a digital scale.
The suspect, Ezra Wheeler, 27, of Brick, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, intent to distribute cocaine and intent to distribute heroin. Wheeler’s charges were placed on a summons and he was lodged in Ocean County Jail.
