A Brick resident immediately contacted police after seeing what he viewed as a suspicious person trying to access vehicles in his neighborhood, police said, ultimately culminating in the arrest of an out-of-town suspect.
According to Ptl. Victoria Finelli, police were called to Windsor Road, located in a residential neighborhood off Mantoloking Road, at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday for a suspicious person attempting to enter parked motor vehicles.
Ptl. Scott Mesmer responded to the area and quickly located a suspect who matched the description provided by the caller, Finelli said. Christopher Kennedy, 33, of Burlington, N.J., was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and theft of movable property. Kennedy was processed at Brick Police Headquarters and lodged in Ocean County Jail.
By Tuesday afternoon, Kennedy was not listed as an inmate at the jail. No photograph was available.
