Brick’s Spring Leaf Collections to Begin April 8

Brick Township will begin its annual spring leaf collections April 8, the township announced this week.

As is the usual practice, the spring leaf collection will move forward on a schedule that follows a homeowner’s recycling schedule. If your recycling day is:

• Tuesday, pickups will occur April 8, 9 and 10.
• Wednesday, pickups will occur April 11, 12 and 15.
• Thursday, pickups will occur April 16, 17 and 18.
• Friday, pickups will occur April 19, 22 and 23.
• Monday, pickups will occur April 24, 25 and 26.

Residents are asked to have bagged leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. the first day of their designated pickup window. Only leaves in bags will be collected; it is against township ordinances to “curb” leaves, as the practice can clog sewers and lead to flooding. Branches, twigs and other debris should not be placed in leaf bags.

Leaves may also be brought to the township recycling center on Ridge Road Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
