Riders on New Jersey Transit buses in Brick Township will have a new sheltered structure along one of its routes through town.
The township council formally voted to endorse a plan by NJ Transit to construct a covered bus stop shelter on Route 88 westbound, between Jack Martin Boulevard and Laurel Brook Drive, about 50-feet west of the Walgreens pharmacy.
The station will be served by several NJ Transit buses: the 139 from Lakewood to New York; the 67 from Lakewood/Toms River to Newark and Jersey City; the 136, which travels Route 9, and the 133, which travels Route 34. There are also a number of seasonal and off-peak buses in the “130s” that are variations of the primary routes.
