Brick Township officials this week voted to solicit bids for roadway upgrades in the Cherry Quay neighborhood, as well as for new police vehicles.
Road Upgrades
The Cherry Quay Phase II road upgrade project will provide for milling, paving, drainage improvements and repairs to curbing and driveway aprons on Royal Drive and Tiller Lane, two of the streets that make up the neighborhood.

The project was designed – and the bids will be reviewed – by CME Associates, an engineering firm contracted by the township.
An contract will be awarded at a future meeting of the township council, after which a pre-construction meeting will be held to set dates for construction work. Residents will be notified before the work begins.
New Police Vehicles
Brick officials also voted unanimously this week to award a bid for new police vehicles.
The township will purchase six 2023 or newer Ford Explorer police interceptor vehicles from All American Ford, of Old Bridge, the low bidder following a solicitation earlier this spring.
The funds were appropriated under the 2024 municipal budget, which was recently approved. The dealership will charge $39,488 per vehicle, for a total of $236,928.
According to officials, the new vehicles will replace those that are aging out of the fleet after years of wear and tear.
