Brick Township’s annual Summerfest celebration will continue on Thursday night after a packed start last week to celebrate Independence Day.
Summerfest will be held Thursday, July 11 with a concert by Garden State Radio. The concert will be followed by fireworks. SummerFest is held at Windward Beach Park, off Princeton Avenue, and admission is free. The event also features food trucks, a beer-and-wine garden, and activities for youngsters.
The headline act, Garden State Radio, has been one of New Jersey’s most popular cover bands over the past decade. Known for their unique live show that feels more like a stadium concert than a local cover band, they have performed thousands of shows for huge crowds all over the East Coast. Their seasoned, professional musicians – including multiple lead vocalists – perform an eclectic variety of music spanning everything from the ’70s to today.

The township offers a complimentary shuttle bus service that will bring attendees to and from Windward Beach, as the park’s parking lots fill up quickly. The pick-up/drop-off locations are: Drum Point Elementary School; Veterans Memorial Middle School; Midstreams Elementary School; Lanes Mill School; and Brick Township High School.
Trips to Windward Beach begin at 5 p.m. and return trips begin at 8 p.m. Coolers and chairs are permitted on shuttles. No alcohol is permitted in coolers or bags; all coolers and bags are subject to search.
Summerfest Concerts are also broadcast on 87.9FM so people attending and watching fireworks by boat can enjoy the show. Hundreds of boaters commonly anchor off Windward Beach for a perfect view of the fireworks each week.
