A woman who robbed a convenience store in Brick Township and was responsible for committing a series of other crimes – one violent – has been sentenced to a prison term for the string of offenses.

Olivia Paige, 35, of Toms River, was sentenced to seven years in state prison by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan. Additionally, Ryan sentenced Paige to three years as a result of her previously-entered guilty plea to cocaine possession in connection with an incident that occurred in Brick Township on January 11, 2023. She received eighteen months as a result of an additional plea to aggravated assault.

According to prosecutors, the Brick incident occurred at the Krauszers convenience store on Maple Avenue and Hebertsville Road Jan. 11, 2023 after the store called police to report a woman shoplifting. An investigation by responding officers determined that Paige was responsible for taking items from the store without paying for them. She was located behind the store with the missing items, and taken into custody without incident. Paige was also found to be in possession of cocaine. She was transported to the Ocean County Jail, and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey’s bail reform law.

The violent offense occurred in Lakewood Aug. 29, 2023, when prosecutors say Paige approached a woman sitting in her car on Clifton Avenue, brandishing a knife and demanding money. The victim handed money over to the suspect, at which time she fled the area. The officers were able to ascertain a detailed description of the suspect. A short time later, police located the suspect – later identified as Paige – at a nearby eatery. Paige was taken into custody without incident; she was searched following the arrest and found to be in possession of a five-inch utility knife.

Finally, on April 14, 2023, Lakewood police were called to First Street for a report of a woman acting in a disorderly fashion. Responding officers found that the woman – later identified as Paige – was shouting profanities and acting in an erratic manner. As Officers attempted to subdue Paige, she spit in their faces. Paige was charged with aggravated assault.

The sentences for the three crimes will run concurrently, the judge ordered.
