Brick Township has awarded two contracts for street repaving and improvements in town.

Several streets in the Greenbriar I senior community will be paved under a contract awarded to Meco Inc. at a council meeting Tuesday. The $407,873 contract includes the repaving of Emerson Road, Central Boulevard and Robinson Road.

“The project generally consists of concrete curbs and driveway aprons, reconstruction of curb ramps, full reconstruction of pavement and general surface restoration,” said Councilman Derrick Ambrosino.

Likewise, the same types of improvements will be made in the Cherie Manor neighborhood, located off Bursville Road.

The council awarded a $140,413 contract to Meco – which was the low bidder for both projects – to perform the work on Lisa Drive, Princess Avenue and Maria Court.

Residents will be notified before work is scheduled to begin, and will be given instructions on timelines and if cars need to be moved off the street.
