Two restaurant chains have announced their impending openings in Brick – one of which will begin serving customers this week.

Burger 25, which is locally-owned, will open its third location at the Icarus Brewing complex on Route 88. The company operates one location in Toms River and another on Long Beach Island. The Brick location, at 2045 Route 88, will open its doors Thursday. The restaurant has not yet announced its hours, but the Toms River location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Burger 25 opened its first location in Toms River in 2013, owned and operated by local residents Steve and Denise Vetter and their children Alexis and Aiden. The menu offers (you guessed it) 25 different style burgers, as well as chicken sandwiches, fries, wings and a humongous selection of side dishes.

Raising Cane’s, a national chain based in Baton Rouge, La., has also been confirmed to be opening in Brick Plaza in the space formerly occupied by Quaker Steak and Lube. With more than 700 locations, the fried chicken restaurant has primarily operated in the southern states, but began a foray into South Jersey over the past two years.

A date for a grand opening has yet to be set, however the news was confirmed by Mayor Lisa Crate, who said the chain was a popular request from residents that had been forwarded to Federal Realty Trust, the owner of Brick Plaza. From there, talks continued and resulted in the company choosing to open a new location in town.

Raising Cane’s is named for the yellow Labrador Retriever owned by the company’s founder. Cane is also the company’s mascot.

The menu features a number of southern-style chicken finger dishes, large “tailgate” portions, fries, sides and sandwiches. The company is also known for its original iced tea recipe, which was the subject of a national advertising campaign this summer featuring the rapper and actor Ice-T.
