Brick Township has announced its annual fall leaf collection schedule, with pickups starting in October. Brick provides two pickups in the fall, and offers another round of pickups in the spring.
In addition to the pickups, residents can bring their leaves to the recycling center on Ridge Road for dropoff. It is illegal in Brick to place loose leaves at the curb, as the township does not operate vacuum trucks and piles of leaves on the side of the road can lead to blocked storm drains, causing flooding in many neighborhoods.
The pickup schedule is based on a resident’s recycling schedule and is completed during a window of days, since collection times can vary and are weather-dependent. Residents should have bags of leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. the first day of their collection period, and only bagged leaves will be collected. Bags must not weigh more than 50 pounds.
