Brick Township will distribute dune grass plantings for free next month, officials announced this week.
The township will be offering free dune grass for any resident who would like to plant the grass on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Brick Beach 1 from 8 a.m. until 12 noon, or until the supply is gone.
The dune grass is planted to help strengthen and stabilize the township’s dunes wherever they are located. The dune grass is provided by Ocean County and distributed to oceanfront communities and is available for planting on dunes on public and private property.
Anyone who wishes to plant dune grass can pick up the seedlings at the beach so they can be planted.
