On July 4, 2023, detectives from the Lakewood Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit were conducting narcotics-related surveillance when they observed a Ford Expedition make an abrupt U-turn on John Street and park in a parking lot located on Jay Street. The detectives then saw a female passenger of the Expedition exit the vehicle and enter a Mercedes-Benz parked nearby. When the woman re-entered the Expedition, detectives approached the vehicle and asked the driver, later identified as Myers, to exit the vehicle.
Myers was detained by detectives and consented to a search of his person and the motor vehicle. A search of Myers by officers found approximately 23 grams of cocaine packaged for re-sale and two bricks of heroin. Myers was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail, and later released under the state’s bail reform law.
Myers is now lodged in the jail while he awaits transport to the state prison system.
