Veterans Day is observed Monday to honor those who have served the United States in her armed forces. Like most federal holidays, Brick Township municipal offices will be closed.
Likewise, public works collections of trash and recycling will not occur Monday, Nov. 11. Collections will be delayed by one day all week long.
As tradition holds, the major Veterans Day Parade will be held at the county seat and proceed through downtown Toms River. Organized by the Toms River Township Veterans Commission, the event will feature a series of ceremonial tributes, recognitions, and student essay awards, followed by the placing of wreaths at the Veterans Memorial on Washington Street.

Rev. Michael M. Mazur will lead with an invocation, followed by the processing led by several grand marshals who represent different branches of the military. A ceremonial bugler will perform, ending with taps to remember those who gave their lives in service of their country.
The parade route runs along Main Street (Route 66) and ends with a turn down Washington Street.
