Brick officials this week awarded a contract that will repair the concession stand building at Brick Beach III, following a summer during which the building was closed due to structural issues.
The township council awarded a $245,702 contract to George Koustas Painting and Construction, of West Long Branch, to complete the work which is expected to enable the building to reopen for the 2025 summer season.
“The project generally consists of the replacement of concrete columns that support the roof structure of portions of the concessions building,” said Councilwoman Melissa Travers.

Travers said the contract also includes the repair of attic vents and soffit vents, as well as the replacement of glass block windows, plus repairs to masonry and the building’s cedar siding.
The building was closed in 2024 and a one-year concession license was awarded to a pizza restaurant which operated a mobile vending truck at the beach.
The township received four bids to complete the work, with Koustas having submitted the lowest proposal.
